What is a glove box? Its basically a sealed environment setup with air flow device that allows 100% sterile working environment for performing tasks related to mycology. It allows you to prepare spores , inoculate jars , and many other important tasks that require a clean working environment.

So do I need a glove box ? what are the advantages of using one ?

You do not always need a glove box. If your confident in your skills and have a clean working environment than you will probably be ok. But if your serious about mycology like we are then this is an affordable way to acquire an important peice of equipment.

The glove box will increase your chances of success when inoculating substrate / grain jars with your favorite spore strain. It will also provide fast , even drying results for your already fruited mushrooms. Sterlity is a main factor when learning / experimenting with mycology so if you can afford to get one, we recommend it.
